What is Eyebrow Threading?
Threading is a hair removal technique that was developed in Southeast Asia and Middle East, centuries ago. The idea is to remove multiple hair in a line, row-by-row, to shape facial hair. Threading technique can be done on eyebrows, upper lip, and the whole face, not being recommended for legs, arms, and bikini area, as the hair tends to be thicker and harder to pull.
How does Eyebrow Threading work?
A thin cotton thread is used, and as the eyebrow specialist move her hand, the threads that are twisted and doubled, grab unwanted hairs in between the openings, pulling them free.
Waxing or Threading for the Eyebrows?
Threading allows for a more defined and pre case shape and can create better definition for eyebrows.
It’s the gentlest form of hair removal, there is no chance of irritation like regular waxing can cause. There’s no pulling or straining the skin, being easier on sensitive and acne prone skin, so if waxing tends to leave your brows raw or red and bumpy for longer than you’re comfortable with, threading might be for you.
Waxing can tug on, pull, stretch, and can peel off a layer of skin. With threading, there’s is none of that, you’ll simply look smooth, refreshed and hair-free.
How long does threading last?
Depending on your hair type and area of the face, full re-growth can be anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. Hair will start to grow back sparse and finer after repeated threading, because hair is pulled out of the root, which gets weakened through this process.
Threading can be repeated as soon hair grows just above the skin, whereas with waxing the hair needs to be at least 2/8″ long before it can be removed again.
